A homemade vegetarian breakfast in Alsace
Local, seasonal, made with care
At Les Écrins, the day begins at the breakfast table, with pastries from our kitchen, local produce and good coffee, all vegetarian.
Each morning, Camille bakes a house speciality, while the rest of the table comes from bakers, farms and producers close to the house. A generous, unhurried way to taste Alsace before setting out for the day.
Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room, from 8.30 to 10 am, and is included in your stay.
On the table, you will find :
- Fresh bread and pastries from our local baker
- Farmhouse cheeses, artisan yoghurts and fresh eggs from neighbouring farms
- Apple juice from a family farm in Sigolsheim, on the Alsace Wine Route
- Fresh seasonal fruit
- Camille’s homemade speciality of the day: kougelhopf, brioche, cake, pancakes and other surprises…
- Homemade jams
- Homemade peanut butter granola
To go with it, a hot drink of your choice: Schreiber coffee, roasted in nearby Munster, tea or hot chocolate. Plant-based milks are available on request.
Local producers, short supply chains
We work closely with producers and artisans from the area. Bread, cheese, yoghurt, apple juice and coffee all come from short supply chains: simple, honest products that bring the flavours of Alsace to your table.

Jams: homemade with fruit from our gardens
The homemade specialities change from day to day, following the seasons and Camille’s inspiration. One morning it might be kougelhopf, the tall, fluted yeast cake that is a true emblem of Alsace; the next, a golden brioche or a stack of pancakes.

Do you use local produce?
Yes, wherever possible. Our cheeses and yoghurts come from neighbouring farms, our apple juice from a farm in Sigolsheim, our coffee is roasted in Munster and our bread comes from our local baker.

A breakfast that reflects who we are
Our breakfast is vegetarian because it reflects the way we like to live and to welcome our guests: a more considered way of eating, care for animal welfare, and a clear preference for local, seasonal produce from short supply chains. Above all, it is a generous and varied table, and very much part of the Les Écrins experience.
Vegan breakfast on request
Breakfast can also be prepared as a fully vegan version on request, with plant-based milks and yoghurts and a vegan homemade pastry. We are always happy to take your preferences into account. If you have an allergy or a food intolerance, simply let us know before you arrive, and we will prepare a breakfast suited to you.
